Mahindananda sent back from the airport : The Department of Immigration and Emigration has informed us that investigations are underway regarding the diversion of Member of Parliament Mahindananda Aluthgamage who arrived at Katunayake Airport for a foreign visit.

The department said in a statement that it has received information that the situation has arisen due to the inclusion of another person's data related to the passport data of the Member of Parliament.

Accordingly, the service of the officer who entered the correct information into the system has been suspended.

The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that the Criminal Investigation Department and the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) are investigating the incident.
