The Ministry of Health has informed that 7 types of essential medicines needed by the country have been obtained under the India Loan Scheme.

However, Dr. Saman Ratnayake, Additional Secretary, the State Ministry of Health, said that there is a shortage of about 150 types of essential medicines in the medical sector.
