Elections cannot be held as scheduled – Election Commission
The Election Commission informed the High Court that due to a lack of sufficient funds and other facilities, the activities of holding the local government elections as promised have been hampered.
Accordingly, the Election Commission has stated that it has encountered difficulty in fulfilling the promise given to the High Court that it will take steps to conduct the local government elections as planned.
These facts have come to light through a petition filed in the High Court on behalf of the Election Commission.
