The Election Commissioner has sent a letter to all the District Returning Officers, Deputy, and Assistant Returning Officers and sent a series of instructions regarding the administrative work to postpone the postal voting indefinitely.

Accordingly, normal office hours have been announced for all employees from next Monday and overtime work for election duties has been suspended.

The letter also mentioned that all district election offices including the main office should be closed on weekends and public holidays.

If it is necessary to open the office on weekends or holidays for any special duty, prior permission from the Election Commissioner should be obtained.

The services of temporary assistants and retired officers in service will be temporarily suspended after office hours with effect from yesterday.

The letter also mentioned that all the vehicles received from various companies for the transportation of employees should be temporarily released to the concerned companies with immediate effect.

However, it has been stated in the letter that instructions will be given in the future regarding the police security deployed for the security of the said office and till then arrangements should be made to get police security.
