International Women's Day Today 2023 : Today is International Women's Day. This year's Women's Day will be held under the theme 'Pride of Her Country'.

Its national celebration will be held today (08) morning at Bhattaramulla Voters Edge under the leadership of President Ranil Wickramasinghe.

Minister of State for Women, Children, and Social Empowerment Geeta Kumarasinghe said that the National Policy on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment prepared for the first time for Sri Lanka will be handed over to the President.

Here, four exceptional women are judged for their pride and courage as women and the fame they have brought to the country at national and international levels. Kalanidhi Sujatha Attanayake, Kalasoori Sriani Amarasena, Gudkatura Anula de Silva, and Rashmi Nimesha Gunawardena have been selected there.

Besides, the distribution of prizes and certificates to the twenty-five best business women selected at the district level is another feature of this national event.
