Extreme heat warning – issued for 6 districts

A heat alert has been issued for 6 districts namely Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Hambantota and Monarakala.

The Department of Meteorology has predicted that the heat will be more than the human body can tolerate in these districts.

To protect themselves from overheating, people are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activities, wear white or light-colored clothing, and stay in shady areas.
