The Election Commission has informed that if the ballot papers related to the postal voting of the local council elections are available today or tomorrow, the postal voting can be conducted on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of this month as currently planned.

They also mentioned that if the ballot papers are not available within these two days, the date of postal voting will be decided on the coming Monday.


Meanwhile, the National People's Power Party has also sent a letter to the United Nations office in Colombo regarding the continuation of efforts to postpone the elections.
