New ministerial appointments delayed due to IMF loan delay

According to high-level government sources, the appointment of new cabinet ministers, provincial governors, and new ambassadors will not take place before January 15 next year.

Delay in the disbursement of the expected loan from the International Monetary Fund is also said to be a reason for this situation.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that although the secretary of the party has given the list of persons to be appointed as cabinet and state ministers of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna twice, the list has not been approved yet.

Also, it has been revealed that although the tenure of the governors has come to an end, no final decision has yet been reached regarding the new appointment.

However, Motu's party had proposed to appoint five of the governors appointed during Motu's administration and agreed to appoint them first. The names of four people representing the United National Party have now been announced.
