President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized that the government has given priority to reviving the country's declining economy and that law and order will not be allowed to plunge the country into anarchy.

The President said this while addressing the 32nd Rotary District Conference organized by District No. 3220 of the Rotary Club of Sri Lanka and Maldives held today (18) at Colombo Taj Samudra Hotel.

The President expressed hope that the country's economy will soon return to normalcy and promised to build a democratic society in the country by the end of this year.

In addition, the President emphasized that the people will not be left to suffer after solving the economic problems of the country and said that the government will take all the necessary decisions.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe mentioned that he is a leader who respects democracy, but democracy first requires public peace and for that it is necessary to maintain law and order.

The President pointed out that democracy cannot exist without law and order in a country and a stable economy is essential for democracy.

Stating that there is no democracy but anarchy in a country without law, order and economic recovery, the President said that he will never allow the country to go down the path of anarchy, Ranil Wickramasinghe said that he will never allow the country to go down the path of anarchy and is committed to maintaining law and order.

The President expressed his hope that by restoring the economy next year, the people will use their votes to make the necessary changes in the country and create the future they want.

The polio campaign has faced tsunamis and drug shortages and the current economic crisis. The President appreciated the support provided by the Rotary Club to Sri Lanka during these crises.
