Nepal observes mourning today after plane crash

According to foreign media, the cause of the crash of the plane that was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Nepal has not yet been revealed.

The news reports say that a detailed investigation is underway into the accident and a special committee has been appointed by the Nepalese government.

A plane carrying 72 people including 68 passengers and 4 crew members crashed near Kathmandu airport yesterday.

Foreign media have reported that the bodies of 68 passengers have been found. Rescue workers are engaged in searching for 4 missing persons.

Foreign media reported that around 300 aid workers were involved in the rescue efforts. They are searching the wreckage for any survivors as well as for body parts.

Eyewitnesses say the pilot tried hard to avoid crashing into houses as the plane crashed. After the plane crash, the government of Nepal announced that mourning will be observed today.
