The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has urged China and India to agree to restructure their debts.
The International Monetary Fund will not provide money until China and India agree to reduce Sri Lanka's billions of dollars in debt. So it's best for all parties to act quickly, the central bank governor told the BBCThe Governor of the Central Bank also mentioned that it is in the interest of all parties that China and India take appropriate action immediately.
He also mentioned that Sri Lanka will help repay the debts of those countries and
Sri Lanka does not want to remain in this position for a long time without fulfilling its obligations. He also mentioned that it is not good for the country and the people.
Also, the Governor of the Central Bank has mentioned that it is not good for the confidence of investors coming to Sri Lanka.
